Eva Berggren | 1929-1998
Eva Berggren was educated at Signe Barth's School of Painting in Stockholm in 1947 and at Lena Börjeson's School of Sculpture in 1948. She then studied at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris 1948-49 where artist like Alberto Giacometti, Siri Derkert and Bror Hjort had studied and inspired her. She then continued at Valand's School of Sculpture in Gothenburg 1951-57. Her sculptures are often inspired by the feelings between both mothers, fathers and their children. Her expression is strong and unique, her technique more rough that detailed enhancing the experience for the viewer.
