Stan Wysocki | 1949 -
Stan Wysocki or Stan Wys which became his stage name (1949) is an artist/sculptor born in Belarus. He was the family's first child born after the Second World War. Stan's upbringing was traumatic and as a child he was exposed to experiences that a child should not have to be exposed to. Through school, he quickly got in touch with a number of ball sports, which quickly became his great passion. In 1968, he began studies at a sports training school in Wroclaw, a city in southwestern Poland, the city at that time was almost only ruins, which fascinated many artists who sought to go there, and in this way Stan got in touch with them. After this, Stan Wys studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan and after that he apprenticed with the great sculptor Henry Moore, as well as with Professor J.H Lonas at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin. He now lives in Poland, where he also works.
