Axel Gute  |  1890 - 1959

Axel worked as a bronze caster and was borne in Gotland but lived i Stockholm. He later took the name Gute when he started to make his own sculptures. He was a student of the great Russian sculptor Alexander Archipenko and has exhibited at the avant-garde gallery Der Sturm in Berlin. He is best known for his bronze bookends and was active at Herman Bergmans art foundry.
