Erik Mauritz (Puck) Stocklassa was a Swedish sculptor and illustrator.

He was the son of actor Erik Stocklassa and Paulina Ekman and married for the first time to Astrid Sjöström and the second time from 1957 Gerd Margareta Larsson and father of photographer Jefferik Stocklassa. Mauritz Stiller was his godfather at baptism. The family traveled to Hollywood in California in the United States together with Stiller and Greta Garbo in 1925 The family later moved to New York in 1928 and returned to Sweden in 1936. Stocklassa studied at the Royal Institute of Art from 1940 to 1945 and during study trips in the United States and Mexico from 1947 to 1948, and a few years later he spent a period in France and Spain.

 

He debuted with a solo exhibition in the Royal Tennis Hall in Stockholm in 1946 where he displayed a number of realistically designed sculptures, the exhibition was followed up with a solo exhibition at Galerie Acté in Stockholm in 1948. Together with Maud Rydin he exhibited in Linköping in 1960 and together with Reinhold Ljunggren and Kurt Rubank in Malmö in 1961. He participated in exhibitions arranged by Sweden's general art association and Liljevalch's Stockholm salons. He has modeled several girl figures and animal pictures. From 1951 he had his studio in a former stable at Surbrunnsgatan 9 in Stockholm.

He was a loner in his work and wanted full control over his creations. To make himself independent from bronze casters, he developed his own technique, where he could transfer copper to the works he cast in plastic through electrolytic baths. He worked in wood, clay, plaster, metal, plastic, stone, ceramics and concrete. He also illustrated books. From his studio at Surbrunnsgatan 9, works were created for, among others, Bonnierhuset, Stockholm's school board, Solna city, Kolmården's zoo, Scania in Södertälje, and the Royal Tennis Hall. He always went his own way and, although he won many prizes, was uninterested in the art elite. He is only represented in Sörmland's art museum, although his work has a unique expression of playfulness and imagination. he lived a long and interesting life, exploring new ways of expression in art until the end.
