
Thorwald Alef | 1896 - 1974
Thorwald Alef grew up in Jönköping and was educated at Althin's painting school 1917–19 and at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm 1919–22. He debuted as a painter in 1924 as an early modernist. He later turned to sculpture. He collaborated with Estrid Ericson at Svenskt Tenn, among others. Thorwald is represented at the National Museum in Stockholm.
